This scrapbook, created from images and resources available in the Art Explorer program, features many of the important works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec that are included in the exhibition "Toulouse-Lautrec and Montmartre," on view from July 16 to October 10, 2005. Interpreting the Parisian district of Montmartre as a state of mind as well as an environment, the exhibition re-evaluates the decadent worldview of fin-de-siècle Paris. Toulouse-Lautrec's prints, paintings, and drawings, as well as pieces by other important contemporary artists, showcase various Montmartre establishments, including the dance halls, the cafe-concerts and celebrity culture, the maisons closes, and the circus.
