Important News: TRC Closure

The Elizabeth Stone Robson Teacher Resource Center will close to the public on December 1, 2008, and will reopen in May 2009 as the Educator Resource Center in the Ryan Education Center, located in the Art Institute of Chicago's Modern Wing.

Regular hours will continue through the end of November 2008, after which the TRC will be available by appointment only. Educators are encouraged to contact us by phone or e-mail if they have any questions or require assistance.

In the meantime, please continue to visit the Teacher Resource Center, where we are holding a special sale for teachers on teaching manuals and poster packets.

Everyone is welcome to visit the Elizabeth Stone Robson Teacher Resource Center, located in the Kraft Education Center of the Art Institute. More than 1,000 resources are available for 21-day loan, for purchase, or in-house only.

A copy machine, computer, scanner, and color printer are available for use at no cost.

Check out lesson plan boards that are updated regularly with free hand-outs.

Orientations of the Teacher Resource Center are offered year-round for groups.

Teacher Annual Pass

When you visit the Teacher Resource Center, you will receive a free educator’s pass. This pass gives the bearer unlimited general admission to the Art Institute and admission to the Ryerson and Burnham Libraries until September 1, 2009. Beginning December 1, Teacher Annual Passes may be obtained at the Kraft Education Center information desk or by calling the Teacher Resource Center.

Classroom Connect is the Art Institute's customized in-service program for teacher groups. This seminar is for groups interested in learning about the museum's resources for educators and practical applications for the classroom. Please schedule at least two months in advance. Call (312) 443-3719.
