Cruise to Santorini with visits to the Nomikos Foundation and Prehistoric History Museum. Tour the 11th-century Monastery of the Revelation on the island of Patmos. In Turkey, tour the ancient ruins of Ephesus and the resort town of Kusadasi. Return to Greece for visits to the main shrines of Artemis and Apollo and the Terrace of the Lions in Delos. Disembark in Piraeus, and transfer to Athens. |

Paula Wisotzki, adjunct lecturer in the Art Institute’s Department of Museum Education, enhances a custom-designed itinerary that features the best of ancient and modern China. Begin in Beijing, with a curator-led tour of the new Capital Museum followed by an exploration of the picturesque Houhai District by pedicab. Next visit the Summer Palace, including a cruise of Kunming Lake, the royal gardens, and the Painted Gallery, and stop at Olympic Village to see the National Stadium. Then visit the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, and attend a performance at the new National Grand Theatre. See the Great Wall at Mutianyu, and visit 798 Dashanzi Art and Culture District. In Xian, visit the Yangling Museum and the History Museum, see the terracotta warriors, and stroll Muslim Street stopping by its Grand Mosque. Conclude in Shanghai where highlights include an expert-led walking tour of the Bund and visits to Yuyuan Garden and the Shanghai Museum. |
