Join Margaret Farr, adjunct lecturer in the Art Institute’s Department of Museum Education, on this artistic jaunt
through the picturesque villages and brilliant landscapes of Provence. From your idyllic home base in Aix-en-
Provence, visit Cézanne’s atmospheric atelier; encounter Cézanne, Rubens, Ingres, and Picasso at the Musée Granet; and enjoy private visits to unique art venues. Visit Arles, the town where Vincent van Gogh’s Studio of the South once stood, home to many of the locals depicted in his art, and currently the home of the Foundation Vincent van Gogh. Nimes offers the Carré d’Art Musée d’Art Contemporain and the tranquil Luberon valley. Travel to the French Riviera, stopping en route for a private cooking lesson in Julia Child’s former Provençal kitchen. Conclude in Nice, where highlights include the Picasso Museum in Antibes and the Matisse Chapel in Vence. |

Join Tamara Faulkner, adjunct lecturer in the Art Institute’s Department of Museum Education, on this exploration of historical and cultural legacies. Begin in Lucerne with three nights at the majestic Hotel Palace. In Zurich, take an architectural tour, and visit the villa of Oskar Reinhart, one of Europe’s great art collectors. In Bern, visit the medieval Old Town and the Renzo Piano–designed Paul Klee Museum. Continue to Basel to view Old Master works at the Kuntsmuseum and 20th-century works at the Beyeler Foundation. Visit the esteemed Basel Art Fair, and embark the deluxe River Cloud for a Rhine River cruise. Stops include Strasbourg, featuring the Unterlinden Museum, Old Quarter, Gothic cathedral, and Musée d’Art Moderne; Heidelberg, featuring the Kurpfalzisches Museum; Mainz, featuring the Gutenberg Museum and the impressive Chagall windows at St. Stefan’s Church; and Cologne, featuring its famed cathedral, Wallraf-Richartz Museum, and Ludwig Museum. |

The Baltic’s Amber Coast: St. Petersburg to Copenhagen aboard Sea Cloud II

Join Annie Morse, senior lecturer in the Art Institute’s Department of Museum Education, aboard Sea Cloud II for a glorious exploration of the Baltic’s Amber Coast. Begin in St. Petersburg residing at the deluxe Grand Hotel Europe for three nights. Enjoy special before-hours entry to the famed Hermitage, and view the mosaics in the Church of Our Saviour as well as the vast collection at the State Russian Museum. From St. Petersburg, sail for the walled city of Tallinn, Estonia, and Finland’s maritime capital of Helsinki. Then navigate the myriad islands of the Finnish and Swedish archipelagos en route to the captivating city of Stockholm. After a relaxed day at sea, arrive in Latvia to see Riga’s noted Art Nouveau architecture. Sea Cloud II calls next at Klaipeda, Lithuania then cruises across the Baltic to Copenhagen, where our voyage concludes. |

Village Life in England’s Cotswalds

Experience the art and architecture of the English countryside with Greg Nosan, editor of the Art Institute’s award-winning journal Museum Studies and a specialist in 18th-century literature and gardens. After arriving in London, transfer to Cheltenham for a walking tour of the town. Then enjoy a guided, before-hours tour of Blenheim Palace, Sir Winston Churchill’s birthplace.
