Launched in 2006 by President and Director James Cuno, the President’s Exhibition-Acquisition Fund is dedicated specifically to allow the Art Institute to present exhibitions and to acquire works that might not otherwise find a home—permanent or temporary—at the museum. This restricted fund directly supports the museum’s mission to represent and share an encyclopedic collection of art with the public. Through the collective efforts of many donors over the past two years, the Art Institute has been able to bring a number of stunning works to Chicago, including:
Lorenzo Ghiberti, The Gates of Paradise
exhibition sponsorship
Ed Ruscha and Photography
exhibition sponsorship
Omura Koyo, Blue Phoenix (Seiran)
acquisition of a pair of six-fold screens
Ikeda Keisen, Fish and Plants
acquisition of a single six-fold screen
Charles Ray, Hinoki
acquisition of a large-scale sculpture
By contributing to the President's Exhibition-Acquisition Fund, you allow the Art Institute to satisfy the curiosity of a modern audience by supporting the acquisition and exhibition of a growing collection. Donate today!
