Additional donations from members and visitors literally support every facet of museum life, from education programming for over a million and a half visitors each year to preservation of the museum’s 260,000 works to the simple, yet vital, operations that keep our doors open 362 days a year.

Since the first bequest more than 100 years ago, the Art Institute has been continually enriched by the generous legacies of friends who remember the museum in their estate plans. The Sustaining Fellows are the premier giving society of the Art Institute. This group brings together individuals who recognize the museum's commitment to artistic quality by supporting it with an unrestricted annual gift of $2,500 or more.
