What has changed about the membership program?
Many of the benefits associated with your membership will be familiar—special access to the museum and exhibitions, discounts in the Museum Shop and restaurants, access to the Member Lounge, and more. But we are also introducing new level names, new member-only opportunities, and new member benefits. Here are a few of the highlights:
Families
The membership program is more family friendly than ever before. Each membership level now includes free admission for all children 18 and under in the member household.*
Bringing Friends
We want to make it easier for you to share the museum with friends and family. A new level, Member Plus, offers admission for up to four adults.
Increased Engagement
We want to enable you to become more engaged. The Lionhearted Levels offer members additional benefits and opportunities to increase their involvement with the museum.

How do these changes affect me?
We wanted all of our members to start enjoying the new benefits and opportunities right away, so effective November 1, all existing memberships were transitioned to the equivalent new membership levels. All members were mailed new member cards and information about their new membership level. If you have not received your new member card, please contact our Member Relations team at aicmembership@artic.edu or (312) 499-4111.

Why were these changes made?
We’ve made these changes to address the needs of our diverse membership. Over the last two years we have collected your feedback about the museum and the membership program. Now, in anticipation of the opening of the Modern Wing, we are pleased to present to you a membership program that reflects this feedback and offers exciting new opportunities and enhanced member benefits.
Your membership supports our family and our mission. In return, this new program supports yours with exclusive access to your favorite place to gather, to listen, and to learn.
Are the old membership levels still available?
As of November 1, only the new membership levels are available for purchase.
Has my expiration date changed?
No, your expiration date remains the same. If you extend your membership or renew early, your new year of membership will begin following the month of your expiration.
Can I upgrade my membership?
Of course! We encourage you to review the new membership levels and benefits available to you, detailed here. If you would like to upgrade your membership, please contact our Member Relations team at (312) 499-4111.
Are there still two-year memberships?
Two-year memberships are available at the Member, Member Plus, and Premium Member levels. For prices, please click here. The description of your membership level is the same for one-year and two-year memberships—the difference is reflected only in your expiration date.
How do I use my new member card? Your new member card may look different, but it works the same way as your previous member card did. Your card is still the key to special access to the museum and exhibitions, discounts in the Museum Shop and restaurants, access to the Member Lounge, and more, so be sure to bring it with you on your next visit!
What do I do with my old member card?
We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for members to recycle their old member cards: simply drop it off at the Member Lounge.
Is my membership tax deductible?
