You are invited to an exciting new season of exhibitions, artists' talks, and special events.
The Photographic Society of the Art Institute of Chicago was founded in 1982 to bring together artists, collectors, curators, and students interested in the history and art of photography. Through a series of exclusive programs from October to May, the Society continues to promote a deeper appreciation of the creation, collection, and display of photographs.
Most importantly, the Society directly enhances the Art Institute’s photography collection. Membership in the Photographic Society funds special acquisitions that have included works by Harry Callahan, Kenneth Josephson, Sally
Mann, Helen Levitt, and August Sander. Join today and lend your voice to next year’s acquisition!
As a member of the Photographic Society, you will be invited to:
- exclusive lectures by artists, critics, conservators, and curators
- opening receptions for exhibitions
- special tours of private collections
