In 1954, the Oak Park-River Forest Community Associates was
formed to serve the communities of Oak Park and River Forest. Oak Park-River Forest Associates became
the second suburban group to affiliate with the Art Institute of Chicago and

Among the creative programs presented annually are
image-illustrated lectures at the Art Institute, which focus on both the
current exhibitions and the permanent museum collection. Also sponsored are an
opening coffee, a spring luncheon, multiple day trips, and most recently, an
extended tour to art venues in other states. All programs are coordinated through the Art Institute.
