The Art Institute of Chicago
Auxiliary Board

America Windows Founded in 1973, the Auxiliary Board of the Art Institute of Chicago is the oldest arts auxiliary board in the nation. Since its inception, the Auxiliary Board has developed a rich history of funding exhibitions, acquisitions, outreach programs, and special events for the museum.

Its myriad projects include a $500,000 pledge to the museum's capital campaign for the Art Institute's Modern Wing, the support of a variety of curatorial projects through the board's Legacy Gift, and hosting the beloved Holiday Treasure Hunt and Tea Party, which will celebrate its 30th year in 2011.

This dynamic group of 60 young civic and business leaders is committed to fostering an appreciation of the museum's collection with new audiences. Events and programs strive to increase membership and financial support to the museum.

Membership by invitation only
