Title: Public Relations and Marketing Intern

Department: Gene Siskel Film Center

Duties/Responsibilities: The Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute seeks an intern to assist with The Black Harvest International Festival of Film and Video (August 1-28) is the Gene Siskel Film Center’s annual showcase of the black experience on film and video, with more than 30 entertaining, powerful, and provocative features, documentaries and shorts celebrating black culture worldwide. Black Harvest includes a festive opening night and special events throughout the festival.  The intern will assist with researching and gathering marketing information via the internet and other resources; contacting individuals, organizations, and media to assist in bringing more visibility to the festival; working on mailings and assisting to develop and maintain targeted mailing lists; disseminating information about the festival and events through email, fax, and phone; assisting with press check-in and photographers at events, when needed; general office work such as filing and answering phones.
