Title: Communications Intern

Department: Marketing & Public Affairs

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supports work on all communications efforts. Specific areas of focus include:

1. Editing

a. Edits requests as needed from the department

b. Edits website and assists in maintenance of site. This includes writing copy, updating pages, and entering resources into content management systems

 

2. Podcast

a. Assists in the production of all podcasts

b. Reviews/edits all podcasts

c. Select, upload, and manage AIC podcasts in conjunction with NPR

 

3. Web 2.0

a. Updates Facebook

b. Keep abreast of ever-changing developments in this area

c. Work with marketing intern to ensure that promising opportunities are being implemented

d. Upload, tag, organize, and manage Flickr e. Assists Marketing Coordinator with development and implementation of AIC blog

Required Qualifications/Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office, Web 2.0 media such as Facebook and Twitter, macs/pcs; intern should have an excellent eye for detail and proficient writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Previous editing experience is desireable.

Length of Program: Ideally 3-6 months, however there is some flexibility.

College Credit: Available

Hours: Intern will work a total of 21+ hours a week. This can be divided as intern and supervisor choose over the Mon.-Fri. 9am-5pm office hours.
