Title: Marketing Intern
Department: Marketing & Public Affairs
Duties/Responsibilities: Supports work on all marketing efforts.
Specific areas of focus include:
1. Local College Student Marketing
a. In collaboration with marketing team create and manage an ongoing audience development campaign for college students
b. Post all events to Loop U website
2. Partnership Marketing
a. Work with Marketing Assistant to develop prospect lists and associated "pitch ideas" for upcoming exhibitions and major museum events, especially Modern Wing
b. Update and maintain current partner database when necessary
c. Arrange and participate in preliminary meetings with prospective partners
d. Assist with distribution of partner materials
e. Assist in audience development for Hispanic and African American audiences
3. Assist in Event Execution (Wreathing of the Lions, etc.)
a. Assist with planning of events for Wreathing of the Lions
b. Assist with execution of partnership elements for events
c. Assist in day of activities and duties
4. Excel Data Management
a. Manages excel data for monthly reports
b. Manages data for marketing research projects
5. E-news and Research Data Collection
a. Attend all Thursday free evenings to collect e-mail
b. Greet visitors during free evenings
c. Help collect data for marketing research projects
Required Qualifications/Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office (particularly excel), Web 2.0 media such as Facebook and Twitter, macs/pcs. Intern should also be excellent at writing and excellent at working with the public (particularly on the phone).
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Length of Program: Ideally 3-6 months however there is some flexibility

College Credit: Available
Hours: total of 21+ hours a week. This can be divided as intern and supervisor choose over the Mon.-Fri. 9am-5pm office hours.
