Title: Intern
Department: Gene Siskel Film Center
Description: Assists in all development efforts, including the annual fund, foundation and government grants, fund-raising events, and membership. Learn all aspects of development from general membership to board and donor cultivation to arts management. Reports to assistant director of development.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assists the management of annual appeals, acknowledgements, distribution of benefits, and maintaining database. Helps to manage events with gift/ticket coordination, silent auction and raffle coordination, and preparation of program and signage. Develops donor cultivation events, including festival openings and committee receptions. Identifies and researches government, foundation, and corporate sources of funding for various projects. Evaluates and cultivates audience development and membership efforts, including the development of a member survey and tracking and calculating its results. Writes, edits, and proofreads solicitations, acknowledgement letters, and general correspondence.
Qualifications/Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and Internet use. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to detail. Ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in arts administration, art history, writing, or English.
Length of Program: Flexible to meet program requirements
