Fellowship Announcement

The Chicago Community Trust is pleased to announce “Fellowship in Arts & Culture Management: Preparing for Diverse Leadership in Chicago’s Arts and Culture Institutions” for 2007-2009, a program designed to increase diversity at middle and senior management levels of cultural institutions in the Chicago area.

In partnership with six of the city’s most well-known cultural institutions, the Trust invites experienced professionals to apply for a paid two-year fellowship at the following participating institutions: The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Children’s Museum, The Chicago Community Trust, Chicago History Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, Museum of Science and Industry and John G. Shedd Aquarium.  Designed for fellows to apply their skills and to further their professional development, this program will allow participants to gain knowledge of working in the arts & culture community.

Over two years, six individuals will complete four-month rotations at each institution. Fellows will be expected to have enough experience so that, when combined with this two-year program, they can qualify for open middle/upper management positions at any Chicago arts and cultural institution.  Targeted professional backgrounds include: Accounting, Project Management, Sales, Education, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Marketing/Public Relations, Operations and Retail/Customer Service.

The application deadline is March 1, 2007. Fellowships begin June 4, 2007.
