Getting to the Museum The new Shirley G. and Patrick W. Ryan Education Center features five classrooms and three studios as well as a dedicated student entrance to the museum. The entrance to the Ryan Education Center is located on Columbus Drive, just south of Monroe Street. The bus drop-off can be accessed on the southbound side of Columbus Drive.

The museum does not offer bus parking during student visits, but group leaders may make advanced arrangements with Soldier Field for bus parking. Find more information about parking at Soldier Field.

Please be aware that scheduled construction projects on major highways and in downtown Chicago can impact travel times to the museum. After confirming your visit and scheduling your bus, plan your route the museum and be sure to depart your school with enough time to make your scheduled tour start time.

Special Notice! Tours May 18–22, 2012

Chicago is hosting the G8 and NATO summit May 19–22, 2012 at McCormick Place. While this conference center is located to the south of the Art Institute, it is expected that this summit will cause disruptions to traffic. We want to be able to offer all tours during this time, but please be aware of this potential disruption and plan your travel to the museum accordingly if you schedule class trips during this time.
