Royal Treatment Drawing

Official Rules

  1. No Purchase Necessary.

  2. TO ENTER: Submit a photo of yourself on one of the Art Institute designed “thrones” on the Chicago Transit Authority to the Art Institute’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/artic) by 11:59pm CST May 30, 2011. The individual who submits the photo will be eligible to win the drawing. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to disregard any entry that is misdirected, illegible, incomplete or incorrect. Entries become the property of the Art Institute of Chicago.

  3. Prize Details: The winner will receive a private tour for 4 of the Art Institute of Chicago (valid through December 31, 2011), a Kings, Queens, and Courtiers: Art in Early Renaissance France hardcover catalogue (valued at $65), and a one-night stay for two at The Palmer House Hilton, (subject to availability, restrictions apply, must be redeemed by December 31, 2011). No prize substitution or cash redemption allowed by the winner. All taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  4. Drawing and Awarding of Prize(s): The Art Institute of Chicago will select one winner in a random drawing from all entrants on or about June 1, 2011. The Art Institute will compile all the Facebook names of entrants and randomly draw a winner. The drawing and awarding of prizes will be conducted by a representative of the Art Institute of Chicago whose decisions on all matters relating to this drawing are final. The winner will be notified via Facebook message. If the winner does not respond or forfeits the prize, no other winner will be selected. The winner agrees that the Art Institute of Chicago may use his or her name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited). Acceptance of the prize indicates acceptance of all the contingencies described herein and inherent to the prize offered.

  5. Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of qualified entries received.

  6. Eligibility: Drawing open to legal U.S. residents age 18 or older. Employees of the Art Institute of Chicago, its advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are not eligible. All federal, state, and local laws apply. Void where prohibited. The Art Institute of Chicago and its advertising and promotion agencies, are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may rescind, cancel or revoke this drawing based upon any such error without liability and at its sole discretion. By participating in this drawing, entrants waive all right to, and hold harmless, the Art Institute of Chicago and its advertising and promotions agencies from any loss, damage or expense arising out of or in connection with participation in this drawing or acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.

  7. Release: By entering the Drawing, entrant grants the Art Institute the non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable right to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, adapt, modify, and otherwise exploit the photo and to incorporate the photo in other works in any and all markets and media now or hereafter known worldwide in perpetuity.  Entrants warrant that they have the sole and exclusive right to grant such rights to the Art Institute and that the Art Institute’s reproduction, publishing, displaying, and/or other use of their photo will not infringe on any rights of third parties, including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity, or create claims for false light, idea misappropriation, defamation, intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, or breach of contract.

    Any Entries with a photo containing material that is violent, pornographic, obscene, illegal, inappropriate, or racially or morally offensive or that does not comply with these Official Rules or meet Art Institute’s standards for any reason, as determined by the Art Institute in their sole discretion, may be rejected as ineligible for consideration and removed from the Art Institute’s Facebook page.

    Entries must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Upon request, you must provide Art Institute with signed releases from the persons appearing in the photo. If any person appearing in the photo is a minor, entrant warrants that he/she has obtained written permission from such minor’s parent or legal guardian to include such minor in the photo. Upon request, entrant must provide Institute with signed releases from the parents or legal guardians of all such minors. The Art Institute shall have no obligation to copy, publish, display, or otherwise exploit the photo.

    Entries must be received before 11:59 p.m. on May 30, 2011, to be eligible for the Contest. No more than five (5) Entries total per person/email address/household during the entire Submission Period. Multiple Entries received from any person, email address, or household beyond the stated limits will void all such additional Entries. Entries that are incomplete, garbled, corrupted, or unintelligible for any reason including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion are void and will not be accepted. In case of a dispute over the identity of an entrant who submitted a potentially winning Entry, the Art Institute reserves the right to deem that the Entry was submitted by the registered subscriber of the Facebook page submitted at the time of Entry. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use entrant’s name and Facebook name, image and/or voice in any and all media now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation, notification, permission, or approval.

Royalty for a Day Drawing

  2. To Enter: Visit www.museumacsi.org/aic and complete the visitor survey, which should take approximately 10 minutes. Fill in your e-mail address at the end of the completed survey and you will be automatically entered into the visitor survey drawing. If you do not fill in your e-mail address prior to submitting your completed survey, you will not be entered. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to disregard any entry that is late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or incorrect. You must enter between December 28, 2010 and February 27, 2011.
  3. Prize Details: The prize is a $100 Amazon gift card. Applicable Amazon terms and conditions apply. No prize substitution or cash redemption is allowed by the winner. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if featured prize becomes unavailable.

The drawing and awarding of the prize will be conducted by a representative of the Art Institute of Chicago whose decisions on all matters relating to this drawing are final. The winner will be notified by e-mail. If the prize notification e-mail is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited. The winner will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winner’s response must be sent to same e-mail as prize notification. If the winner does not accept prize within such timeframe, the Art Institute of Chicago will draw another entry from among the remaining entries and the substitute winner will be notified by e-mail. The substitute winner will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winner agrees that the Art Institute of Chicago may use his or her name or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited). Acceptance of the prize indicates acceptance of all the contingencies described herein and inherent to the prize offered.

Fill in your contact information at the end of the completed survey and you will be automatically entered into the visitor survey drawing. If you do not fill in your contact information prior to submitting your completed survey, you will not be entered. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to disregard any entry that is late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or incorrect. You must enter between October 1 and October 31, 2011. Please note that the survey may close before October 31, 2011 if the participation quota is reached.
