Thomas Struth is one of the most important artists to come out of Europe in the last several decades. A student of Gerhard Richter and Bernd Becher, Struth has become as famous as his teachers. His most recent career retrospective traveled to the Kunsthaus Zurich, the Whitechapel in London, and the K20 in Düsseldorf.
Struth will photograph either the couple or family of your choice
Artist’s Terms and Conditions: If the session involves more than two sitters, the session will take place in Chicago. The purchaser agrees to cover international business-class airfare for both the photographer and the photographer’s assistant. The purchaser agrees to pay for the artist’s hotel accommodation for four nights. If the session involves only two sitters, the session will take place in Berlin. This lot includes two round-trip business class tickets from the United States to Europe for the two sitters courtesy of United Airlines. These tickets expire June 30, 2012. If the shoot falls after this expiration date, the purchaser agrees to cover the sitters’ airfare to Berlin. The purchaser agrees to pay for the sitters’ hotel accommodation. The purchaser agrees to pay printing, mounting, and framing costs associated with the final product (approximately €3,000). The purchaser agrees to pay shipping costs for the final product (approximately $2,500).
Final Product: The final product that the purchaser will receive is a chromogenic print, first of an edition of ten. The size of the final product will be determined by the artist after the sitting (approximate range 26 x 33 inches to 59 x 79 inches).
