Location and Travel Information

The Modern Wing has its own full-service entrance. Please use the Millennium Park entrance, located on Monroe Street, for direct access to the Modern Wing and Ryan Education Center. The Modern Wing can also be accessed via the Nichols Bridgeway and Michigan Avenue entrance.

The Millennium Park entrance features ticketing, audio tours, a checkroom, and member desk. This entrance is also handicap accessible and provides a drop off point for people with disabilities.

Admission Fees

  • Adults: $18.00
  • Students and seniors: $12.00
  • Children under 14: Free

Chicago Resident Admission
In recognition of the significant support given to the museum through local property taxes, Chicago residents receive a $2 discount on admission. Proof of residency is required. Discount only available at museum admission desks.

Group Access

School Groups have their own dedicated entrance to the Modern Wing, the BP Student Esplanade. School groups from pre-K through high school are welcome to tour the Modern Wing. Please note that all groups must have a reservation for either a guided (by a museum docent) or self-led tour. Click here for information or to make a reservation, or call (312) 443-3679.

Dining in the Museum

Please join us in Terzo Piano, the Garden Café, or the Balcony Café with menus that focus on sustainable, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Terzo Piano
This 160-seat restaurant headed by Spiaggia chef Tony Mantuano is open for lunch seven days a week and dinner on Thursday evenings.

The Garden Café
This casual café offers self-service dining daily, 11:00–4:00.

The Balcony Café
Recharge at the Modern Wing’s new coffee shop.

Members always receive a 10% discount in the museum's restaurants.

Shopping

The Modern Wing Shop, Kids Shop, and Crown Family Educator Resource Center join the museum’s Michigan Avenue Museum Shop and Asian Shop.
