Unforgettable is the battle by the village Krasnoe
When like a beautiful vision
Glory greeted us.
The enemies set off home,
Shivering from cold and exhaustion.
We threatened them from the South
Appointing the hour of the battle.
And so Kutuzov fought
Destroying all the French;
Napoleon retreated…
That glory lives today,
In the memorable Smolensk valley
We chased the Germans out!
And in Berlin our campaign came to an end.
