A German Christmas Tree, TASS No. 0892, January 31, 1944
Stencil
1730 x 875 mm
Fritz greedily plundered Europe,
And he swept it with a broom.
"Well," the robber sneered,
"Let's set up a Christmas tree!"
The scoundrel was so full of cheer!
Wines, roast veal, and chicken
Geese and everything besides,
He hung on his Christmas tree!
Suddenly, the candles all went out!
Fritz howled out like a wolf.
From the sky terrifying "presents"
Rumbled down onto his tree!
It was a touching scene;
Everything perished: the house, the veranda...
And Fritz's Christmas tree was turned
Into a fir cross for his grave!
