Museum Admission

Adults: $12
Children, Students, and Seniors (65 and up): $7
Children under 12 are free.

Art Institute members always receive free admission to the museum. Become a member today.

Families can visit the Art Institute for free with the Kraft Great Kids Passport from the Chicago Public Library. Passports are valid for general admission and for most special exhibitions.

Location

The museum is located at 111 South Michigan Avenue, at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Adams Street, on the eastern edge of Chicago's famous downtown Loop.

Gallery Audio Guide

The gallery audio guide is a comprehensive overview that lets you explore the museum at your own pace. With its random-access format, the guide allows you to enter a gallery number into a small MP3 player to enjoy commentary on the collection. It can be rented at the admission counter at Michigan Avenue. The guide is available for $6 ($ 5 for members) and is free to visitors with visual and hearing impairments.

Exhibition audio tours are available for some exhibitions and include the gallery audio guide. The tour is available for $6 ($5 for members) and is free to visitors with visual and hearing impairments.

Dining in the Museum

Enjoy a served lunch featuring seasonal flavors in the Garden Restaurant, open 11:30–3:00 daily. The Café is open every day until one hour before museum closing, offering a variety of food, including soups, deli sandwiches, carved meats, pizza, salad, and desserts in a casual environment.

The Museum Shop

The Museum Shop is located in the Michigan Avenue lobby and offers a wide selection of products related to the 360 Degrees season and the museum's encyclopedic collection. A shop annex, located near the special exhibition galleries, offers products related to Asian art and the current special exhibition.
