About this artwork

Woman from Indianapolis, printed while Westermann was in Kansas City, provided a model for the imagery he explored in the portfolio of eighteen prints, See America First, 1968, that was the culmination of his residency at Tamarind . Westermann again collaborated with Jack Lemon, returning to Chicago (where he had studied at the School of the Art Institute) to make prints at Lemon’s Landfall Press, established in 1970.
