Ownership History
Sir John Ramsden, Bart., Bulstrode Park, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire; sold, Christie's, London, 11 July 1930, no. 36 together with a pendant portrait on copper of an older man, as Frans Hals to Storey [annotated catalogue in Ryerson Library; the portraits were presumably separated shortly thereafter, because the companion to 1969.111, now in the collection of Alfred Bader, Milwaukee, is described by von Moltke 1938/1939 as in a Rotterdam private collection, though he appears not to know the location of 1969.111]. Brian Koetser Gallery, London by 1963 [exhibited London 1963]; sold by David Koetser, Zurich to the Art Institute, 1969.
