Matisse: Radical Invention, 1913–1917

"Draw happiness from yourself, from a good day's work, from the light that it can bring into the fog that enshrouds us." So said Matisse in one of the summary entries in his delightful and profound book project called Jazz issued in 1947, featuring twenty stenciled images. French music, in synch with the spirit of Matisse's striking papercus, highlights works by Poulenc, Ibert, and Tomasi presented by Chicago's own dynamic Fulcrum Point Music Project.
