The Art Institute of Chicago
Wreathing of the Lions
11/28, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Michigan Avenue Steps Free

Families are invited to begin their celebration of the holiday season at the Art Institute's annual Wreathing of the Lions. The first 200 visitors receive free museum admission.

After the ceremony, warm up inside with festive music and a world of art. Trumpeter Stephen Burns plays a fanfare on the Grand Staircase followed by a performance of traditional Norse music by fiddler Karen Solgard.

Families are invited to visit a drop-in workshop to create a wreath inspired by the exhibition The Divine Art: Four Centuries of European Tapestries.
