Sold Out - Please call 312.443.9092 to be added to the waiting list.
In 1452, Lorenzo Ghiberti was commissioned to design a pair of bronze doors for Florence's Baptistry. He labored on the task for 27 years, creating what Michelangelo considered "truly worthy to be the Gates of Paradise" for their remarkable beauty and grandeur. Newly restored panels of the doors will be on view at the Art Institute this summer, and in this course teachers will have the opportunity to view the exhibition and learn about the work of Ghiberti as well as that of other Renaissance masters.
Meets Illinois State Goals in Social Science and Fine Arts.
